PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear School Community,

It is my pleasure to write to you in this edition of the newsletter. We are now in the middle of Term two and I would like to share the following items with you.

NAPLAN: The NAPLAN tests have begun. The first online sessions were held last week in our ICT labs. I believe our students are doing their best. The NAPLAN tests are scheduled to finish by this Friday, May 21st. If your child misses any session, please make sure that they sit for a catch-up session before then.

Camp Australia: Unfortunately, Camp Australia will no longer provide service to our campus due to the very low number of registered students. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their service. I want to remind all parents and guardians that if your child does not have a scheduled after school program, then you need to pick up your child before 3:55 pm as our after-school supervision ends at 3:55 pm.

Lost and Found: It has come to my attention that our lost and found cabinet is full with primary school uniform items, especially PE jackets. Please discuss with your children the importance of looking after their belongings and make sure that all uniform items are labelled. Otherwise, it is not possible to locate the owners of the lost items.

Ramadan: Ramadan, the month of fasting, was concluded last week. Therefore, I wish everyone a Happy Eid. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank and acknowledge pastoral care and community engagement teams for organising after school programs and iftar dinners for students and parents during Ramadan. I also want to thank parents who were able to join our programs.

Enrolment for 2022: We would like to finalise our foundation and other year level enrolments for 2022 by the end of Term two, June 2021.

If you have a school-aged child and want to enrol to our school, please start the online application from our website at:

https://www.sirius.vic.edu.au/enrolment/enrolment-information/

The same online application is applied for other year levels. If you have a friend who is interested in our school, please advise him/her to go into our website and click on either ‘Expression of Interest’ or ‘Application Form’. We are happy to contact interested families once one of these options are initiated. The school tours are also available.

New Staff Members: It is my great pleasure to introduce three new staff members. Ms Ferda Faik has started working as a campus secretary since the beginning of this term. Ms Peggy Jiang and Ms Daniella Carfi have joined our team recently as an enrolment coordinator and a primary school counsellor, respectively. I am confident that they will be an excellent addition to our school community.

Yours faithfully,
Mr. Adem Engin
Campus Principal
